The 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2010 started from Brunico - Bruneck (811 m) in Pusteria valley. Shortly before the Gran Premio della Montagna of Passo delle Palade (1523 m) the maglia rosa group passed with a delay of 12 minutes to the fugitive. The stage of 173 km ended in Peio Terme.
